BioCompute is a deep-tech company enabling the transition toward biomolecule-based data storage and computation. The company is developing cutting-edge tools to make DNA data storage cost-competitive and operates as a small, interdisciplinary team working at the frontier of biology and computing.
BioCompute is seeking a part-time, fully remote Executive Assistant to support the founder across scheduling, communications, logistics, procurement, expense tracking, documentation, and operational coordination. The role requires at least one to two hours of daily overlap with US work timings.
This is a hands-on role involving detailed and repetitive execution, with opportunities to grow into a broader operations or chief of staff function. Compensation will correspond to industry standards, experience, and capability.

Requirements
- Highly organized with strong follow-through and the ability to complete tasks without reminders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.
- Fluency with everyday productivity tools, including calendars, email, documents, spreadsheets, and project management systems.
- Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to anticipate needs before they are raised.
- Persistence and composure when things break or stall, including the ability to follow up until loose ends are closed.
- Ability to work remotely with at least one to two hours of daily overlap with US work timings.
- Prior experience as an executive assistant or chief of staff in a startup is a plus.
- Comfort working alongside a science or engineering team is a plus.
- Experience or interest in marketing, branding, or communications is useful for social media scheduling and content organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage the founder’s calendar and scheduling across multiple time zones.
- Triage the founder’s inbox and draft routine correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings, travel, accommodation, and logistics for the team and visitors.
- Take meeting notes and track action items through to completion.
- Support procurement of reagents, equipment, and office supplies.
- Track expenses and coordinate with vendors and service providers.
- Keep internal trackers, shared drives, and records organized and current.
- Manage social media scheduling and content organization.
- Build and document operational systems and standard processes as the team grows.
- Support board meeting preparation, investor logistics, and reporting cadence.
- Take ownership of special projects across operations, hiring, and events.
- Act as a reliable first point of contact for external partners.
