We’re looking for someone who can have genuine conversations with founders, understand whether Hampton is the right fit for them, and help them see the value of joining our community.
You’ll be joining a small but mighty sales team led by Helen (Director of Sales) and working alongside Alix (Account Executive). You’ll learn our sales process, master the craft of consultative selling, and contribute to refining how we grow.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll ramp quickly, start closing deals, and help shape the next phase of Hampton’s sales playbook as the team expands.
Requirements
- You've done quota-carrying sales for 3+ years and have a track record of closing deals.
- You can talk the talk with founders without sounding like every other salesperson they've talked to.
- You’re casual on a call but still have that killer instinct.
- You understand the founder journey and can relate to the challenges of building and scaling a business.
- This isn’t a traditional “sales” role because we don’t let everyone into Hampton. If someone’s not a good fit or doesn’t meet our thresholds, we don’t let them in.
- You know how to walk away from a bad-fit prospect (quality over quantity).
- You're competitive and want to hit membership targets.
- You know HubSpot well enough to manage a clean pipeline and accurate forecasting.
- You’re a f*cking animal.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience selling high-ticket services, memberships, or communities to executives.
- A background in startups or working closely with founders and CEOs.
Responsibilities
- Own the full membership sales process from qualified prospect to new member.
- Do sales calls (we call them interviews) with qualified founders who’ve come via our outbound and marketing efforts. These aren't sales pitches - they're real conversations about challenges, growth, and whether our community can help.
- Do some outbound prospecting to keep your pipeline full. Find founders who need what we offer and start meaningful conversations.
- Understand each founder's business, stage, and challenges well enough to explain how Hampton's peer groups and community will actually impact their life and business.
- Work with Chapter Leads to understand group dynamics and help prospects see where they'd fit within our Core Groups.
- Handle objections around time, value, and fit. You need to genuinely believe in what we're selling because these conversations get personal.
- Track everything in HubSpot and report on pipeline, conversion rates, and member acquisition metrics.
- Test new sales approaches and figure out what resonates with different types of founders.
- We have tens of thousands of people who’ve applied to Hampton. You will use those leads. We also do paid marketing and have leads coming in from a variety of sources. But you will still need to help do outbound and get more leads.
- Work out of our NYC office.
