Job Description
Blacksmith builds high-performance infrastructure for CI workloads, operating a global fleet of bare-metal machines that helps companies run GitHub Actions faster and more affordably. The company orchestrates tens of millions of Firecracker VMs each month for more than 3,000 companies and has reached approximately $10M in annual recurring revenue in less than two years.
Blacksmith is extending its infrastructure platform to support agent sandboxes at scale and a background coding agent. The company has raised $58.5M from Seed through Series B and is building a small, exceptional team during a period of significant growth.
This critical role will support the CEO through exceptional growth. The Executive Assistant will own logistics, anticipate needs, and act as the CEO's right hand, enabling the CEO to focus fully on the success of the business. This is an in-office role based in San Francisco.

Requirements
- Proven experience supporting C-suite executives in the fastest-paced environments, either supporting the CEO of a hypergrowth startup or Partners at demanding investment banking, private equity, or venture capital firms.
- Ability to anticipate and fulfill needs without explicit direction.
- Strong sense of urgency and relentless focus on delivery.
- No-ego approach with ownership of every task.
- Strong judgment and prioritization instincts.
- Exceptional written communication, including the ability to write clearly in someone else's voice.
- Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and a rapidly changing company.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and obsessive attention to detail.
- Fluency with modern tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and Linear, along with a strong understanding of how a technology startup operates.
- Comfort supporting both professional and personal logistics.
Responsibilities
- Own the CEO's calendar end to end, including scheduling, sequencing, protecting focus time, and making prioritization decisions.
- Build and maintain a lightweight CEO operating system covering weekly priorities, open loops, follow-ups, and reminders.
- Prepare the CEO for meetings with context, pre-reads, agendas, and information about attendees.
- Capture action items and ensure follow-through after meetings.
- Manage the CEO's inbox by triaging, prioritizing, and drafting responses in the CEO's voice.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for investors, board members, design partners, customers, and press.
- Coordinate with executive assistants and chiefs of staff at partner, customer, and investor organizations.
- Handle sensitive information with complete discretion.
- Plan and book domestic and international travel, including flights and hotels.
- Coordinate appointments, household services, purchases, deliveries, family travel, and other personal administration.
- Build systems that allow the CEO's personal logistics to run without their attention.
- Solve problems in real time when plans change.
- Assist with the day-to-day operation of the San Francisco office, including vendors, supplies, food, and workspace.
- Coordinate offsites, team dinners, customer dinners, and networking events.
- Identify and fix problems before being asked.
